Assignment task: Narrative Essay
Written account of a true story about something significant in your life. This narrative essay needs to be 400 words in length.
Since this is a story, the narrative essay needs to include everything a story
Needs, such as:
- Plot
- A theme or thesis
- Characters
- A conflict or problem
- A climax
- A voice
Once you have written the essay, please cut and paste it to the Unit 3 Lesson 1
Discussion forum.
You will then read another student's essay and reply by:
1. Identifying the hook and thesis statement in their essay.
2. Identifying a few of the transition words used to move the narrative through time (first, next, then) or to add emphasis (however, therefore, moreover) in their essay.
3. Identifying one figurative language used (similes, metaphors, onomatopoeia, foreshadowing, alliteration, hyperbole, etc....) in their essay.
