Using Your Own Questions to Write a Sample Annotated Webliography Source Review
Several classes collectively said that every webliography review should answer the following questions. Some questions may overlap with others. You do not need to answer each question directly. I've compiled them below.
Keeping these questions in mind, find a likely source for your annotated webliography and write a concise yet thorough review (remember active voice!) of this source. For the annotated webliography, you will write twenty of these reviews (with links to the sources) and an introduction and publish it as a blog. This large assignment (25% of your course grade) will be due on July 25th. (However, for this assignment, you will only need to write one review of a source, as a sample review.) You may include this sample review among the twenty needed for your annotated webliography. You may also use a shorter version of your secondary source review as one of your twenty reviews. 9) What kind of media is this source (blog, podcast, journal article, etc.)?
10) How big is this source? (Pages? Length of video?)
11) Does it have multiple parts?
12) What are the parts called?
13) Does my review cover all of these parts? Which ones?
14) Who is this source written for?
15) How does it compare to similar sources, especially those that you review in your webliography? (You might not be able to answer this early in your research.)
16) What section of your webliography should this go into to be most useful to your audience? (You might not know yet.)
17) What does this source say?
18) What's a direct quote from the source that would help my webliography's readers evaluate this source?
19) What did I learn from this source?
20) What should my audience learn from this source?
21) What's special about this source?
22) What's an example of something that this source does especially well?
23) What's an example of something useful or interesting that my audience might miss in this source if I didn't point it out to them in my webliography review?
