Problem:
We need to educate the parents about the IEP process. When we speak to them on a daily basis, we can offer suggestions for educational goals that could be used for the IEP. For example, a physical goal could be to learn to skip for a gross motor goal. A fine motor goal could be to grasp scissors and attempt to cut. A math goal could be to match or name the colors. Giving parents examples will help them internalize what they are seeing at home and hopefully be able to recognize some educational goals they would like to see on the IEP. Communicating daily with the parents on the goals their child met and did not meet is valuable information to later establish educational goals for the IEP. Need Assignment Help?
