Problem:
Please help me reply to this post. The United States should implement a universal health care system like Medicare for All which would offer greater access, better health results, and eliminate the inequalities that exist under the current fee-for-service payment structure. With the fee-for-service system, health care providers are paid by the volume of services rather than the quality of the patients' results. This often enables over-testing, over-procedures and uninsured and underinsured people. Universal health care is the provision of basic medical services to all, irrespective of income or employment (Yin et al., 2024). Millions of Americans are still unable to access affordable healthcare despite medical technology advances and insurance changes. The universal health care system can improve the quality of health services and wellbeing of people. In countries with universal systems, infant deaths, life expectancy and also chronic disease management are typically lower than in the United States (Tikkanen & Abrams, 2020). If patients have access to preventive services and primary care without cost concerns, they will get caught up earlier and treat their illnesses more effectively. The current fee-for-service payment model is sometimes based on quantity over coordination resulting in poor coordination of care and increased costs (Johnson et al., 2020). Such a system would influence providers to prioritize prevention, efficiency, and downstream patient health benefits. Need Assignment Help?
