Problem:
Please help me to reply to this post. The United States has the highest cost for health care among high-income countries but consistently lags behind in patient outcomes, health care access, and health care equity. Despite technological advances and health spending at high levels, many Americans are uninsured and underinsured and do not have access to timely and preventative health care. Medicare for All (M4A) would provide a more equitable, affordable, and patient-centered health system than the current fee-for-service(FSS) system of payment. This is because universal health care would provide better access to health care, improve health care outcomes, and reduce health disparities. Unequal access to care is one of the most significant shortcomings of the current FFS system. FFS often depends on employment status, income, or insurance coverage, making it difficult to get treatment due to financial concerns. Aggarwal et al. (2022) found that being eligible for Medicare substantially lowered health service cost barriers for low-income adults. For adults who became eligible for Medicare, delaying medical care or suffering financial hardship due to medical bills was not a greater concern. The results indicate that increasing comprehensive coverage through a Medicare for All plan would significantly increase access to health care for vulnerable populations and lower the proportion of Americans limiting care due to cost.
