Although African Americans were willing to fight on the Battle field during the Civil War to secure their freedom and citizenship,  please react in your Blog post to the conundrum posed by the realities of the Reconstruction  Era 1865-1877:...that it was entirely possible for some in the country to detest slavery to the extent that they would be willing to fight for its abolition, yet at the same time to oppose  the formerly enslaved Black Americans having equal opportunities and rights with equal passion. As Frederick Douglass once said, "Opposing slavery and hating its victims has become a very common form of abolitionism." What is meant by the above and provide examples.  In addition, what was the social and political condition of the South (ex-Confederacy) around the time period of 1865 -1877
