Assignment task:
This assignment is to be completed ONLINE (internet) only. No in-person visit to an actual place or space is required.
Students will do a virtual/online visit to a museum, gallery or other space where art is exhibited ONLINE to finish this project. The art experience MUST be a NEW experience for students. The experience MUST occur AFTER the SECOND WEEK of the current term. The art selected to be experienced must have been produced AFTER the year 1800 CE/AD (no fossils or ancient artifacts allowed).
Students will experience art from ONE non-U.S. citizen artist and make a summary of the art experience (see requirements below), including how it relates to any aspect of the course material. Students will identify the artist, including her/his nationality & cultural background. Students will address any distinctive trait or feature about the artist's national, cultural or ethnic background in a manner that is free of stereotypical references and communicated with understanding, sensitivity, and respect. In completing this assignment, students MUST address the questions/instructions.
