What would happen within the court system if judges did not have to rely on precedent under the theory of stare decisis?
How far is the nearest law library from your home? Usually, they are either in a law school, a courthouse, or in another college setting. Take yourself on a field trip and open some of the reporters (which contain cases) or digests and other sources. If the law library is too far away, take this virtual TOUR. Do you think it's still important to know how to do research in hard copy books, or have books gone by the wayside like horse-drawn carriages? Can all your research be done on competent sources online like Lexis, Westlaw, and government websites? Argue the pros and cons of books v. internet.
