For this extra credit (optional) assignment, you may choose to either:
• watch one of the course's recommended movies
• read an approved literary work
• listen to a suggested musical composition
• view some art works (There are many Russian museums that you can check, including the Tretiakov Museum, and there is Olga's Gallery online.)
• check out some other cultural options
You must send your selection to your instructor for approval before you start on this assignment. Please note that you cannot use your selection as one of the extra credit assignments noted in the course. That sounds more confusing than it really is. For example, you cannot read Tolstoi's War and Peace and do the extra credit assignment in Unit 7 and then also use War and Peace for the Russian Culture Paper. On the suggested artist lists for this assignment, an * (asterisk) preceding an item will indicate that the item is also an extra credit option somewhere in HISTORY 241 or 242.
