Problem:
In response to the question what the primary purpose of community-based corrections is, I believe this to be lowering recidivism rates and reentry of current offenders into society effectively. When looking at factors not mentioned in the text, I believe multiple reasons behind the growth in the correctional system. One such contributor not mentioned would be broken families. In previous years fathers played a more active role in the lives of their children, as well as mothers were in the home more and not in the workforce. When questioning Nature vs. Nuture in my opinion it is both and looking at both can provide knowledge of patterns in the nurture aspect. Of course, I believe there are other aspects to take into accountability, However I do believe starting in the home is ground zero for unlocking why we have so many issue in today's society in regard to high incarceration rates.
