Problem
The court system plays an important role in the interpretation of the U.S. Constitution and in reviewing laws passed by the other branches of government. Through their court decisions, the U.S. Supreme Court has expanded the rights and liberties of individuals. Granting rights to one group might conflict with the liberties of another group, so finding a balance is important to a stable and successful democracy.
