Assignment: Interview an Entrepreneur - Individual Effort
The goal is to Interview an entrepreneur to obtain insight into the mindset of the entrepreneur.
The entrepreneur should have a business that provides them with a living.
Be sure to provide a 1 to 2 pages (part of the overall 5 to 6 pages) discussion on what you have learned from the interview. This is the most important part of this assignment.
Questions: Possible questions to ask the entrepreneur to get things going:
1. What is your business?
2. What is your past history in this industry?
3. What was the spark or opportunity that made you into an entrepreneur?
4. What is your best talent: marketing, operations, administration?
5. How do you take care of the other areas?
6. What challenges do you have as an entrepreneur?
(Example: finding staff, finding suppliers, finding customers or distributors, dealing with cash flow)
7. Do you have a formal written business plan?
8. Are you a member of an association? If so, what do you get out of it?
9. What is your ownership structure? Is your business incorporated? Are there other owners?
10. What is your most important lesson learned from becoming and entrepreneur?
