Problem: What are the pro's and con's that you see with descriptive representation? Especially from a (racial) minority perspective does it not make sense to want a representative that has had the experiences you've had? Or is it problematic to think this way? You hear on the news these days a lot of criticism against "career" politicians. A "career" politician is a representative who continually wins reelection to their office due in part to the name recognition they generate with their constituents from one term to the next. So is this good or bad for democracy?
