Part One of the text relates to major environmental forces that shape the National Health Information System Landscape. The United States health system is called a system although it is not comparative to those countries that have authentic national health care systems. Therefore, the U.S. health care system does not operate or function an integrated network that fits together and works together. It is imperative; therefore, that health care managers understand the macro environment in which they are making critical decisions. Discuss a health care organization you are familiar with to examine the types and use of information systems used. What are the major management issues related to the use of the information systems in this setting? Discuss strategies for addressing these issues. Discuss in you essay, in a "perfect" world, as a manager what you would like your information system to look like.
