What affect a persons nutritional health


Question: How to respond to my peer when they say this Eating disorders can seriously affect a person's nutritional health and the way the body functions. According to Chapter 11 of Nutrition Basics 2.1, anorexia nervosa happens when a person does not eat enough food, causing severe weight loss and slowing down metabolism. The body does not get enough nutrients, so it starts using muscle and fat for energy, which can lead to weakness, dehydration, vitamin deficiencies, and organ damage. Bulimia nervosa involves binge eating followed by purging, such as vomiting or using laxatives. This can cause dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and poor nutrient absorption because the body is not able to properly digest and use nutrients. Binge-eating disorder can lead to obesity and increase the risk of health problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.
