Utilizing the concept of leader-member exchange describe

Janelle directs the marketing department of a small corporate entity. The company has about 100 employees, 20 of whom work for Janelle (she has 5 managers that lead teams of 4 people). The team has a strong reputation for high quality marketing campaigns with successful results. Tom's team is the most creative and productive and willing to do anything for Janelle. In return, Janelle is not afraid to provide extra resources to this team when needed. Joan's team performs well too, but she feels Janelle does not treat her team well and favors Tom's team (i.e. lets Tom's team take greater risks and gives them the best assignments). Being in Janelle's inner circle entails putting in extra hours, which Joan is not always willing to do as she has a young family at home (whereas Tom is single). Utilizing the concept of Leader-Member Exchange, describe Janelle's leadership. Is there an in-group and out-group? If so, which are they and why? Based on the principles of LMX, how could Janelle lead differently to be more effective? (be very specific).
