The historical strategy helps me in the reading of this story. Understanding the era in which the story was written helped me to the mindset of the characters involved, and the vocabulary used in the story is that of people in the deep south. Knowing the history of the South helps you to visualize the home, the people, even the town with it new sidewalks. (Faulkner 84) After reading this story one should have a clear understanding the characters and the type of world they from.
