Testing effects of physical activity on happiness ratings

Discuss the below:

You will be testing the effects of physical activity on happiness ratings for two groups: one group who participates in physical activity and one group who does not participate in physical activity.

You will be drawing two samples: one from the population of people who participate in a structured physical activity program and one sample from the population of people who do not participate in physical activity. You will evaluate the happiness ratings for each participant in each sample via an independent samples "t" test and compare the mean of each sample for significance: two samples; two means - one for each sample.

Note: Use the "Global Happiness Ratings Scale Survey" to rate each participant's level of happiness. (Fictitious, of course)

Pay particular attention to the information on the "t" test for independent means becasue it relates directly to your hypothesis test.

Attached, you will find the data set that accompanies your hypothesis. Your job will be to apply the formula to the data, interpret your results, and write your paper. The numbers in the Activity column are the happiness ratings of the participants who are physically active. The numbers in the No Activity column are the happiness ratings of the participants who are not physically active. Higher numbers indicate greater happiness.
