Problem: Help me have a short reply to my classmate post with in text citation
Development in this week's class has shown me that truly understanding how to communicate with people from different cultures involves many more skills than being able to literally translate different languages. I now also understand how communication styles, values, and even how information is interpreted can vary daily. I can now see the importance of recognizing how your own assumptions and biases can affect your perception and how this perception can directly influence your communication with others. In the future, I hope to become more aware and improve my listening skills, reduce my use of casual language, and pay greater attention to body language. I also hope to spend the time to learn and understand all the different cultures of the clients and communities I work with. I realize now that being respectful and including everyone is vitally important to facilitating the healing process, and that the healing process will be more effective the more the client feels they are being heard and respected.
The discussion this week has shown me how understanding different cultures is a never-ending learning tool. Being open-minded can broaden your ability to communicate with all kinds of people. Need Assignment Help?
