Review the various theories of justice, and think about what Hobbes, Locke, Mill, Rawls, Nozick, Plato, and Marx think about the relationship between the individual and the state. After thinking about their various responses, formulate a well-reasoned position in response to the following question:
Should the social community as a whole take priority over the individual rights of its members, or do the individual rights of its members deserve priority over the community?
