Question:

“The Construction and completion phase of any project is often considered by commentators to be the riskiest part of a project for lenders. However, is this really true when compared to the 30 years or so of operations in, in particular, an uncertain market in a developing nation?”

Critically analyse this statement and ensure that in your answer you highlight at least 3 different risks that may be encountered by lenders in each of the construction and operating phases of a project, and discuss what might be done to mitigate the risks selected by you in order to make the project “bankable”. You must use case law and relevant legislation/case studies to illustrate and support your answers.
