This assignment offers students the opportunity to review the communication and reporting of evaluation activities and findings initiated by an organization.

Criteria for this assignment follow:

A. Carefully review Chapter 14: Communicating and Reporting Evaluation Activities and Findings.

Approach an organization of your choice and interview an HR Manager, HRD Director or Executive, or an HR Generalist. Telephone and/or email interviews are not acceptable for this assignment. NOTE: You do not need to acquire confidential information. The items/questions shown below are intended to help you grasp the value of the contents of Chapter 14 (Russ-Eft & Preskill, 2009).

B. Record the following items (1-6) and responses from the company’s representative on a word document. Submit the word document to Blackboard with your name, course name and number and the assignment name with your date of submission in the upper left-hand corner.

i. Ask the representative to describe one training program, initiative, or intervention, which was evaluated in the past 1-2 years.
ii. Based on what you reviewed from chapter 14 ask the representative to address the following items/questions:

1. What were the primary purposes for communicating and reporting the evaluation findings?

2. To whom (what audiences) did you communicate the findings to.

3. Was timing of the communication and evaluation reports considered? Please explain.

4. Please describe the format your organization used to communicate the evaluation findings.

5. In retrospect, would you take a different course of action for communicating the findings of the evaluation report?

6. In your opinion, did the evaluation findings make a difference in the culture? If, so, please explain.
