Report on patients liver through a postmortem exam

Assignment task:

You are pathologist that has removed a patient's brain through a postmortem exam (autopsy). Write a sample report (1 paragraph) on your findings.

There is a clear space at the center left side of the patient's brain. It is likely that this a result of liquefactive necrosis, where tissue turns into due to ischemia, a lack of blood flow to a large portion of the cerebrum. The patient suffered from a stroke, a type of ischemia that formed an infarct, eventually leading to necrosis. This process was marked by the loss of neurons and neuroglial cells. After these cells died, enzymes released by lysosomes during digestion further hydrolyzed them. This digestion process resulted in the development of abscesses at various locations in the brain that were 2-4 centimeters in diameter.
