Please reply to this post. Phenomenology is the study of an individual's perspective of a specific lived experience, or phenomenon. It aims to determine how an individual experiences events and examines their awareness, intentions, emotions, thoughts, memories, and reactions during and after the experience (Lim, 2025). This type of research is descriptive in nature and strives to convey understanding and interpret meaning through language. Phenomenological research is typically conducted through interviewing individuals to gain insight into the specific experience being studied, and it is important during data collection to focus on the structure of the experience itself rather than the opinion of the participant (Alhazmi & Kaufmann, 2022). In order to accomplish this, the interview must be carefully structured around what the goal of the investigation is trying to determine. This type of research also relies heavily on using existing theoretical perspectives in order to interpret and understand the phenomenon being studied and provide context to the data gathered (Alhazmi & Kaufmann, 2022). Within the field of phenomenology, there are two distinct branches: descriptive and interpretative. While they both seek to gain individual perspectives on experiences, descriptive phenomenology seeks to gain this perspective through detailed and unbiased descriptions, while interpretative phenomenology attempts to interpret those experiences by understanding the individual's embedded.
