Problem regarding conversation with a coworker

Problem:

I had a conversation with a coworker who was seeking some of my feedback because she was interviewing for a City Parks and Recreation commission position similar to one I had held. So, we discussed how she could prepare for the interview, and I would listen to her presentation. I asked her both open-ended and closed-ended questions to better understand her goals, what she was trying to accomplish, and what her narrative could be during the interview.

During our discussion, I had her go through her introduction with the council members who will be interviewing her. I then listened to what she said and attempted to empathize with her goals and concerns during the interview. I would also occasionally summarize what she was saying. My goal while listening to her was to listen empathetically, acknowledge the feelings that were coming up, and ask questions during the interview to help her, as if I were the interviewer. By summarizing her statements, she helped herself better understand what she would say during the interview. At the end of the discussion, she said she appreciated my listening to her and my thoughts on her interview, and that summarizing her story gave her insight into what she would say before the council. She felt confident she would do well in the Interview. I told her I would use our discussion for a class exercise, and she acknowledged this and said it was fine. Need Assignment Help?
