Problem:
The three (3) key concepts I learned and understood this week are Intercultural Adroitness, Cultural Intelligence and Intercultural Sensitivity. Intercultural Adroitness, which is the ability to act and speak correctly to reach a goal. It involves staying calm during disagreements and knowing how to behave with people from different backgrounds. Cultural Intelligence, or CQ, is the mental ability to observe a new environment and adapt your mindset to work effectively. Lastly, Intercultural Sensitivity is the emotional side where you truly want to respect and value the differences you see in others. In my experience, using these ideas helps a team get along much better. One helpful step is to check how everyone shares information. Since I am from the Philippines, I know that communication can be very indirect. In Canada, it is often very blunt. To avoid confusion, a team can create a simple manual that makes "unwritten rules" clear. This helps everyone understand deadlines and feedback without anything getting lost in translation. We can also change how we give feedback. Instead of using the same style for everyone, we can adjust. For someone who values "saving face," a private and gentle conversation works better than a direct critique. This ensures the person learns without feeling unnecessary stress. Lastly, pairing new staff with mentors from different backgrounds helps them feel at home. Need Assignment Help?
