In a situation concerning Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), a teacher contacted my mentor about a student who was struggling academically and displaying impulsivity and inattentiveness. He used a behavioral problem-solving model, to address these issues by identifying specific behaviors, assessing their circumstances, and putting evidence-based interventions into practice. The school psychologist watched the student in the school and gathered data from parents and teachers as part of the first step, which involved problem identification. This procedure revealed that the student failed to finish projects, had frequent outbursts, and was frequently disruptive because of a lack of attention. The next step was a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) to evaluate the disruptive behavior's causes, effects, and antecedents. According to the collected data, the student's disruptions were frequently associated with boredom or task overload. The teacher and the school psychologist then worked together to create a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) that included strategies like segmenting assignments into smaller tasks, offering rewards for finishing work, and adding visual schedules to improve engagement.
