Administer the Drugs
As a nurse you have to administer,the drugs in accurate and adequate dosage. Steroids (1.3 to 2 mg/kg orally) and testosterone propinate (11-12 mg/kg day) are given - to make an attempt to restore the function of bone marrow by stimulating erythropoiesis. Steroids and hormones are used for 4 to 12 weeks in decreasing doses after an internal attack with full doses lasting for 2 to 4 weeks. Symptomatic treatment includes antibiotic therapy of obvious or suspected infection and blood transfusion.
