Short-term theories have become increasingly important due to insurance and legal pressures, and solution-focused theory fits well within this reality because it is designed to be brief, goal-oriented, and efficient. Solution-focused therapy emphasizes what clients want to achieve rather than deeply analyzing the problem, which allows progress to happen more quickly. Research supports its effectiveness across settings, showing positive outcomes for individuals, couples, and families (Kim et al., 2019). This makes it especially valuable when time is limited and counselors must demonstrate measurable progress.
