Job evaluations and numerous merit pay raises

Luther Martin had worked for Eastlake Country Club since 1975, where he started his career maintaining golf carts. During the first decade, he received positive job evaluations and numerous merit pay raises. He was promoted to the position of Maintenance Supervisor at three courses. In 2005 employee, Jason Jackson, was placed in charge of the golf courses. Jackson demoted Martin, who was 55 years old at the time, to running only one of the three facilities, and he froze Martin's salary indefinitely. Jackson also demoted five other men over the age of 40. Another facility was placed under the supervision of Blake Collier. Later, the three courses were again consolidated, but Collier, not Martin-were put in charge. At the time Martin was still in his 50s and Collier was in his 20s. Martin overheard Collier say, "we are going to have to do away with these old and senile men.' Martin quit, and he sued Eastlake for employment discrimination. Thoroughly discuss whether he should prevail, and cite to case law to support your response.
