Problem
Though both are composers of sonnets, Labe and Shakespeare write two different versions. Labe uses the Petrarchan, or Italian model where the "turn" occurs between the octave and the sestet, and Shakespeare uses the English version where the turn occurs between the 12th and 13th The main difference is that the Italian sonnet gives the poet a full six lines to resolve the issue presented in the first eight. In the English, the poet uses almost a punchline by summing up the argument presented in the first 12 lines. Choose a sonnet from each poet and illustrate how the form of the sonnet influences the message.
