Problem: When you think and make decisions in a group, you are in a strong situation. A strong situation is one in which the situation and other people direct your behavior (consciously or unconsciously) in ways that override your typical tendencies when by yourself. In this module, we learned about how your behavior, opinions, and decisions can be subtly affected by others: social loafing, deindividuation, group polarization, groupthink, psychological reactance.
To that end, please prepare thoughtful insightful comments about this phenomenon in your discussion post that includes the following components:
(a) Identify a situation where the presence of others affected your thinking, emotions, and or behavior. Need Assignment Help?
(b) How conscious, automatic, or deliberate were you that the influence happened (think system 1 and system 2 here)
(c) Would you have acted/thought/behaved in the same way if you were alone? Describe.
(d) What kinds of attributions or inferences would someone make about your behavior if they were observing you from an external perspective?
