Assignment Task: Research Study Reflection
Instructions:
Find an online article pertaining to an Applied Research Study. Perform a reflection on the research study in the article (note: some articles you will find will contain more information than others - you should still be able to reflect on the article if all details from the study are not included. Make your own suggestions or recommendations on the study if this is the case).
Use the knowledge gained through week's 1-6 to reflect on the study. Some examples of what you might discuss include the following:
1. What do you think the manager problem was?
2. What do you think the research problem was?
3. How will this research help in the decision-making process?
4. How do you know this was applied vs. basic research?
5. How would the Hypothetico Deductive Model be applied to this research?
6. What sources of secondary research might be useful for this study?
7. What type of ethical issues might be encountered?
8. Summarize the details of the study. If details are not provided, what might you suggest? Think strategies, extent of researcher interference, study setting, unit of analysis, time horizon.
9. What Scales (basic and attitudinal) might be useful to collect data in this study, and why?
10. How might one ensure the study is valid and reliable?
