This field did not previously interest me because I had a bad experience with a school psychologist in high school, but I am interested in it now. A few years ago, I worked with a wonderful school psychologist, and I really admired the way she worked. She was very passionate about helping our students who had behavioral issues. She always presented herself as an open and safe space for the kids and teachers, too. Everyone knew they had someone who would listen and teach them coping skills that they could practice at school and at home. I learned a lot about behavioral plans and individualized learning plans from her. She also taught me how important it is to be patient and kind.
