Problem: In 50 words how May one strengthen this proposal. To address this purpose, I plan to use a qualitative research approach with a basic qualitative design. Qualitative inquiry is appropriate because it allows researchers to explore participants' lived experiences and understand the meanings they assign to those experiences (Creswell & Poth, 2018). Data will be collected through semi-structured interviews with African American women over the age of 18 who have experienced domestic violence. I plan to recruit approximately 12-15 participants using purposive sampling through domestic violence service agencies, community organizations, and social media outreach. Semi-structured interviews will allow participants to describe their coping strategies, help-seeking experiences, and mental health outcomes in their own words while also allowing flexibility to probe deeper into relevant topics.
