How first impressions come from

Problem:

Respond to at least one colleague's initial post about a topic different than the one you chose, in one of the following ways: Explain how another topic from this week's Learning Resources like attitude change applies to the example your colleague described. "In today's day and age, aside from meeting and interacting with an individual face-to-face, one of the biggest ways we form first impressions of others is through social media. Think about it... let's use school as an example. Having the privilege of completing school online has many advantages; however, we are often unable to truly get to know our classmates and professors in person. So where do those first impressions come from? Most of the time they come from social media. At one point or another, many people have looked up a classmate or professor online. I know I have. Whether it was photos on Facebook, videos on TikTok, or an Instagram bio, they were able to gather information and form an impression of that person. According to LibreText Social Sciences (n.d.), "the primacy effect describes the tendency for information that we learn first to be weighted more heavily than is information that we learn later." In other words, the first information we learn about someone often has the strongest influence on how we perceive them. This helps explain why a person's social media profile can play such a significant role in shaping first impressions". Need Assignment Help?
