Problem:
We talked about 5 different things in class. Endorphins, these are the things released when we do physical activities, or when we have moments of joy. Endorphins reduce stress and anxiety in the body. Next, dopamine, this is the chemical that is released when we achive a goal or have pleasure. This is a goal oriented chemical in the body. Serotonin is the chemical that we see released that is associated with mood and regulating it. This chemical, when balanced, helps people feel calm and content. Next, we have oxytocin, this chemical is released when we feel love and is known as the love hormone. This chemical is closely linked to trust and building connections. Finally, we have cortisol, this chemical is a stress hormone. This is an essential role in managing stress and anxiety, and as we talked about alot in class today, burnout. I already knew a good bit about these chemicals seeing as I have struggled with anxiety and depression for a while now. I feel that the one I struggle the most with would be serotonin. I chose this because I often have trouble managing my mood and feelings in tough situations. Growing up depression and anxiety ran in my family and I have never really known how to managed these things. I also struggle with ADHD which makes it much harder for me as well. A couple of years ago I expirienced something traumatic that changed my life and when going through this it messed up so many chemicals in my brain even more. Give me a reply post.
