How does liberalism differ from socialism

Problem

Adam Smith developed classical liberalism, modern conservatism, or libertarianism (Magstadt, 2017). Classical liberalism is about getting the government out of people's lives. Libertarians are consistent in their view of having no government involvement. Rand Paul, a 2016 political contender, is a Libertarian who supported free markets and limited government intervention. Liberalism overall reflects the ability of a populace to govern itself, and classical liberalism is reflected on the right side of the political scale or in today's conservative ideas. Modern liberalism falls more on the left side, referred to in the United States as the liberal approach. So how does liberalism differ from socialism? In exploring this new term, define it and explain how it differs from Marx's view of communism. Modern liberals and conservatives have been fighting the "culture wars" for a long time (Whitman Cobb, 2020). What are these "wars?" Why do they matter?
