How does it match up with critical criminology

Problem

Critical criminologists are radical. I am not. However, I agree with quite of bit of their doctrine. Quinney's The Social Reality of Crime pointed out that criminal law represents those who hold power.

In this discussion, I want you to look around your area, wherever you live or frequent. Do you notice the activities of the powerful? In my town, they have repaired the roads twice in the past few years on the "good side of town", but left the other side in bad need. Remember, this is not about money, it is about the powerful. What do you see and how does it match up with critical criminology?

Do you think your observation supports Instrumental or Structural theory?
