Problem
A number of environmentalist thinkers have pointed out that we have grown accustomed to thinking that the world is so large that we will never bump against its limits. Given our population projections, some have argued that soon we might not be in a position to feed all these people without destroying our planet. Synthetic biologists (& others like Rauch) believe that our solution consists in developing a form of agriculture based on GMOs. Do you agree with their argument? Why or why not? Ultimately, how do you think we can solve this ethical dilemma? Defend your argument.
