Gayatri Spivak asks the question of whether the subaltern can speak. Many of our readings emphasize that this is difficult to achieve through the media. Focusing on economic class, answer the following questions:
How do the media distort or ignore the working class? According to our readings, why do the media distort or ignore the working class? Give one example of a TV show or movies that marginalizes the working class. Also, (if you can) give us an example of one TV show or movie that represents the working class in a positive light.
