The years between WWI and WWII is often called the Inter-War Years (1919- 1939) with the rise of dictatorships. Choose one dictatorship either in: a) Fascist Italy or b) Nazi Germany. What military, political, economic, social, and overall conditions led to the formation of a dictatorship in this country? Who was its main leader? How did the dictatorship begin as a political power and develop into a one-party dictatorship? What were the dictatorship's main policies and accomplishments? How did the dictatorship maintain its power? In your view, could this dictatorship have been stopped before it began, or at least early in its power? Why or why not?
