Explain the questions that must be addressed for renovation

Problem

The Miller, Petersen, and Judge (MPJU) Center is the foremost sports and entertainment indoor, multipurpose facility in the region. It has a total seating capacity of 14,500 for baseball, with 14,000 for concerts, and 16,000 for rodeo events. The facility is designed with 45 luxury suites and 1,800 club seats, with parking for 6,200. The MPJU Center is the home of the Troy Jaguars, a AAA minor league baseball team as well as the Lower Alabama Rodeo and Exposition (LARE). The City of Troy originally constructed the $96 million, 19,000 seat capacity facility with the hopes of being awarded a National Basketball Association expansion team. When it was evident Troy would not receive a team, the Jaguars became the anchor tenant. However, with only 26 executive suites and a design better suited to basket- ball (specifically, poor sight lines and too many seats), the MPJU Center needed to be renovated to fit the needs of the anchor tenant, the Jaguars. Using the Information from the chapter, answer the following:

A. Identify the 6 design goals listed in the chapter and how they would apply to the renovation of the MPJU Center.

B. Explain how and why lifecycle planning will be significant in planning the MPJU.

C. Since the facility will be multipurpose, Identify and explain the questions that must be addressed for the renovation to be successful.

D. List and explain concourse design issues that must be addressed in the renovation plan of the MPJU Center.
