Social Change and Future Directions of Forensic Psychology
Forensic psychology as a practice and a field of study is in its infancy. How is it currently evolving? What lies on the horizon and beyond? Diverse paths exist for forensic psychology professionals, such as research, law enforcement, trial consultation, forensic evaluation and expert testimony, and correctional psychology. Perhaps another path may involve the establishment of professional standards and educational requirements for various roles or functions. Other paths may enable professionals to influence public policy standards and advocate for social change by admitting scientific evidence or calling attention to ethical issues around jury selection.
