PART 1 - ETHICS APPLICATION:

Q. Analyse ethical issues in a proposed formal research project;

Q. Create a formal ethics approval application

INSTRUCTIONS:

You are required to produce a formal ethics application. This application should include the following:

1. The purpose of the project

2. Full details of the project procedures (including sampling, data collection and data analysis)

3. The description of how risks of the participants will be minimised

4. A timeframe for each stage and completion of the research

5. How study results will be disseminated

6. The description of study participants

7. The consent form (see the template on eCampus)

LENGTH:

The submission must be between 500 and 1,000 words (excluding the references).

PART 2 - RESEARCH PROPOSAL:

Q. Analyse formal research project phases;

Q. Create a professional level research question and hypothesis;

Q. Conduct a critical research literature review to support a formal research project;

Q. Critically analyse research methods and select an appropriate research methodology to address a specific research question;

Create a formal research proposal;

Part 2 A (500 words) - Formative Assessment

1. Define the title of your research.

2. Conduct a preliminary review of the literature (read at least 5 sources of information on the topic of your interest);

3. Develop three research questions and/or hypothesis;

4. Each of your research questions must be justified by the references to the literature. When presenting your research questions, you need to consider the following:

a) the key issues;

b) the foundation authors;

c) the research gaps.

Part 2 B (1,500-3,000 Words) conduct a critical review of the literature;

5. select an appropriate research methodology to address a specific research question;

6. Put 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 into a formal research proposal (see Assessment rubric for format).

The submission must obey the format according to the assessment rubric.

  • Text should be 1.5 spacing;
  • Times New Roman;
  • 12 point font.
