The solution contains several arguments of the southern states for leaving the union. They were the below:
1. Frequent intrusion in the sovereignty and reserved right of the states
2. The Revolutionary War had created a loose union of states free to secede whenever they wish
3. The Declaration of Independence had created a free union of independent states. If the Federal government acts against the purpose it was formed, the people had every right to move away from the union
4. The southerners could no longer bear the heavy duty imposed by the northerners.
5. The southerners believed that constitution itself empowered them to free from the union
6. The Northerners were trying to abolish the institution of slavery and it could destabilize the economy of the south
7. The Northerners had created an atmosphere of hostility and hate
8. The Republican President and Vice president were elected to achieve the aim of the northerners. In this situation, there was no other way but to leave the union completely.
