Standard and Raw Scores: Explanation
Give a description of the term standard score, and explain why standard scores are preferable to raw scores. Provide an example of a construct (depression, anxiety, intelligence, etc.) one would like to measure for an individual. Explain what it would mean if the individual you assessed was -2 standard deviations below the mean, +2 standard deviations above the mean, or in between -1 and +1 standard deviations.
