Title: "Depression and Attachment are Invariably Linked".
Write a critical academic essay describing the interrelationship between attachment theories and depression, with CBT as a clinical intervention.
Demonstrate a critical understanding of attachment theory in human development, a critical understanding of the interrelationship of attachment and depression and relate to CBT as a clinical intervention for depression.
This is required for a UK post-graduate diploma course.
Harvard referencing style should be used.
Reference must be made to Aaron Beck (CBT, depression), Judith Beck (CBT), Christine Padesky (CBT) John Bowlby (attachment theory), Mary Ainsworth (attachment theory), with mention also of Erik Erikson (psychosocial development), Freud (psychoanalysis), Melanie Klein (object relations theory) and George Kelly (Personal Construct Theory).
I will provide a list of reference book and PDFs of 12 to 15 articles which can also be referenced.
The marking criteria is based on demonstrating the above: critical understanding of attachment theory in human development, critical understanding of the interrelationship of attachment and depression.
