In your answer, you MUST include:

• Nursing considerations with respect to skill performance in relation to client/patient diversity (such as age, disability, gender, etc.)
• A discussion of any potential health and safety and/or risk issues related to skill the importance of communication and service user involvement when carrying out the skill
• The professional standards expected by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC2008).

Discussion of your chosen skill - what is it? What does it include? When would this skill be used? Why is it relevant to contemporary nursing practice? Link here to evidence based practice, and clearly reference the ‘rationale' of why it is done this way. You MUST use appropriate references
Discussion of any potential health and safety or risk issues associated with the skill in relation to contemporary practice, using references to support your answer
Include Service user involvement, communication, and diversity considerations, where felt relevant. Consider also the impact of the NMC (2008) Code of Conduct when carrying out the skill.
Conclusion - summarise the main points discussed and clearly state if you think the skill is or is not relevant to contemporary professional nursing practice based on your answer. Do not include any new information in conclusion.

Do not use subheadings in an academic assignment. Pictures should not be included. Tables and graphs if used, must be referenced correctly, and would normally sit better in an appendix than in the main body of the assignment.
References should ideally be less than 10 years old.

You must avoid colloquial expressions. Write using academic language there is no need to explain basic medical terminology.
