Discuss the innate and adaptive responses to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19
i. Describe the innate responses that protect against viruses. Are there any unique features that are especially protective against this virus? Are there any features of the innate immune response that actually contribute to symptoms?
ii. Describe the adaptive responses that protect against viruses. Compare "natural immunity" (from recovering from infection) and "acquired immunity" from vaccination. Is there any difference between the two? Is there any advantage to becoming immune to the virus one way or the other? Please use medical, not political, considerations.
